Dallas-based venture capital firm Hunt Ventures announced Wednesday that it has raised an initial venture fund worth some $140 million. Hunt said the fund, Hunt Ventures Fund I LP, includes a "significant" contribution from an unaffiliated institutional investor. Hunt noted that a portion of the $140 million has been earmarked for existing portfolio companies. The rest, Hunt said, is available for new and follow-on investments. An affiliate of Hunt Consolidated Inc., Hunt Ventures focuses on early stage technology companies in the wireless, digital media, software and services sectors.
