HTC Gets $1M For Innovation Prize
The Houston Technology Center announced Thursday evening that the business incubator has scored a $1M commitment for a innovation prize, the Goradia Innovation Prize. According to the HTC, the award will go to early stage companies that have commercialized, or are close to commercializing their technology within the Gulf Coast region. The prize commitment comes from Mr. Vijay Goradia and wife Dr. Marie Goradia. Mr. Goradia is founder and chairman of Vinmar International, a $3 billion global distributor of chemicals and polymers. The HTC said Goradia has agreed to fund the $1M prize over the next 10 years.
