Brian Sharples, the co-founder and CEO of Austin-based HomeAway, has been awarded one of the top spots in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards. E&Y announced the winners of its award this year, naming Sharples as Entrepreneur of the Year in the Service category. E&Y said the awardees were chosen from a field of close to 2,000 entrepreneurs in ten categories. HomeAway operates an online marketplace which connects travelers with vacation home and rental operators.
