HomeAway Investor Sells Stake

American Capital Ltd., an investor in Austin-based HomeAway, has sold its stake in the the firm, it said Thursday. American Capital said it received $15M in proceeds from its sale, gaining $4M from selling its stake to other, existing HomeAway investors. American Capital was part of a November, 2006 investment round--worth $160M--raised by HomeAway, providing $70M in debt and equity in the firm. American Capital also said it subsequently invested $50M in additional financing in Homeaway. Homeaway is an operator of online marketplaces for vacation rental properties, and has also received funding from Austin Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, Institutional Venture Partners, Technology Crossover Ventures, and Trident Capital.
