Heatgenie Raises $400K

Austin-based HeatGenie, a developer of self-heating food packaging technology, has raised $400,000, according to a recent regulatory filing by the firm. Source of the funding was not disclosed. HeatGenie had said in May that it is receiving $250,000 from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund; it's unclear if the regulatory filing includes that $250K. HeatGenie is headed by Gary Forni, who has previously served at Intel and Marvell Semiconductor. The filing indicates the firm's target in the round is $450K, and that so far, 8 investors have participated in the funding. More information »
