GENBAND Wins Three Rural Telecoms
Plano-based GENBAND said today that it has signed three, rural telecom providers as part of the broadband stimulus funding effort by the U.S. government. According to GENBAND, the Halstad Telephone Company (HTC), Federated Telephone Cooperative and Farmers Mutual Telephone Company, all recipients of Broadband stimulus funding, are using its C15 softswitch equipment. Those telecoms are deploying broadband support in Minnesota and North Dakota. GENBAND did not say what portion of those funds are going towards it equipment. HTC has $11.7M in broadband stimulus funds, Federated Telephone Cooperative has $3M, and Farmers Telephone Company has received $9.7M for its broadband buildout.
