GameStop Sees Uptick In Q2

Grapevine, Texas-based videogame retailer GameStop released its quarterly report for its fiscal second quarter on Thursday, saying that results exceeded its expectations. The company reported $1.76 billion in revenues for the quarter, up about 1.8 percent from revenues in the same quarter last year. The company had $33.1M in net income, a 34.6 percent increase from last year. Areas of strength for the company included collectible products--new, videogame linked collectibles which have recently become popular with gamers--as well as sales in GameStop's Technology Brands stores.
