Austin-based Freescale Semiconductor said this week that it is in a deal with GlobalFoundries to bring new flash storage memory products to market, using 90-nm technology. According to the firms, the memory is expected to be used in Freescale's microcontrollers, which are used in consumer electronics and household appliances to medical devices and smart metering systems. Financial terms of the deal between the companies was not announced.
