EDS Wins Services Contract from American Express
Information technology outsourcing firm Electronic Data Services revealed this morning that it has landed a five-year technology services contract from finance heavyweight American Express. The monetary impact of the customer win was not disclosed. EDS said it is managing Amex's end-user desktop computing environment and its global voice and data networks. EDS added that it will also provide on-site services for some 60,000 employees in more than 130 countries across the globe. EDS noted that it has already completed the initial phase of its infrastructure services agreement, which was signed in December 2008. Headquartered in Plano, EDS is a subsidiary of the Hewlett-Packard Development Co.
