    EDS Gets Renewal

IT outsourcing firm EDS revealed Tuesday that the nation's largest privately owned department store chain has renewed its information technology services contract with EDS. Under the new, seven-year agreement, EDS said, it will continue to manage the voice and data network that connects employees at Belk's 307 retail stores, five warehouses and five offices throughout the southern United States. The financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. EDS said the contract also includes managing deployments at new locations and ensuring network reliability and consistency. EDS, which is owned by HP, is headquartered in Plano, Texas.
