DerbySoft Gets $9M For Hotel Search Technology

DerbySoft, a developer of technology to help hotels manage room availability and distribution--and in particular, dealing with surges of requests for rooms that can overwhelm reservations systems--has raised $9M in a Series D funding round, the company said this week. DerbySoft maintains its U.S. operations in Dallas, but is based in Shanghai. The funding came from DCM, through its new DCM Ventures China Fund. DerbySoft says its systems help manage what can be an overwhelming amount of requests for room rate and availability information from search engines, travel sites, and other services.
