Dell Opens Silicon Valley Internet of Things Lab
Round Rock-based Dell has made a move in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) market, saying Tuesday that it has opened up a new, "Internet of Things" lab in Silicon Valley, as part of its solutions center in Santa Clara. Dell said it will help organizations architect and test new Internet of Things solutions and devices in the lab, in a joint effort with Intel. Dell explained that the new Dell IoT Lab will be jointly funded by Intel and Dell OEM Solutions. The "Internet of Things" refers to the trend of connecting devices into the Internet, not to directly communicate with users, but to send information, data, and more to other devices and sensor networks.
