Dell Opens Silicon Valley Center

Round Rock-based Dell has officially opened up its new Silicon Valley research and development center Wednesday, at an event attended by California Governor Jerry Brown and Dell founder Michael Dell. Dell opened up its center, which will employ around 700, on Wednesday at a grand opening for its 240,000 square foot, two-building location. Dell had announced in October that it would be boosting hiring at the location, with the aim of having more than 1,500 employees in Silicon Valley by the end of next year.
