Dell Expands To Embedded PC Market

Round Rock-based Dell said today that it is expanding into the embedded PC market, with its own line of embedded box PCs. According to Dell, it has launched its first, purpose-build industrial PCs, which are designed to be embedded into products, and feature rugged, fanless designs. The company said the Embedded Box PC 3000 Series and 5000 Series are designed for operation between 0 degrees C and 50 degrees C, meet the MIL-STD 810G specification, and include special mounting options for embedded PCs. The new devices start at $1099.
