Dell Calls Attention To Green Effort
Round Rock-based Dell is ramping up its green initiatives this morning, announcing two efforts related to its support of the environment. According to Dell, it has signed on as a participant in The Prince's Rainforests Project, an effort started by The Prince of Wales to raise awareness for the link between rainforests and climate change and the need to stop deforestation. Separately, the firm said it is helping Canadian environmental education nonprofit Earth Rangers in an effort to help that group reduce energy usage in its data center by 90 percent; and, it has installed hardware at Robertson Homes, a builder of green homes, with reducing their energy bills by 51 percent.
