Dell: Nearly 24 Percent Of U.S. PC Market Share In Q3

Round Rock-based Dell said this week that its U.S. personal computer market share has risen to 24 percent, a 3.1 percent year over year, as a result of increasing shipments of its machines to customers. The company said it increased its U.S. shipments nearly 20 percent year over year in Q3, more than its top two competitors combined. Dell cited numbers from IDC. the company says the growth was helped by strong notebook performance in the U.S. The company said it sold almost 10.5 million PC units worldwide in its third quarter.
