Dallas-based Kailight Photonics, which produces optical modules for the global telecommunications industry, announced the development of two new products Wednesday, the K-Works TRAN-1000 and the K-Works TRAN-4800. The TRAN-1000 is the industry's first high-performance, tunable, 10 GB/s transponder available in a small form factor. The TRAN-4800 is the industry;s first 40 GB/s transponder that supports differential phase-shift keying modulation in an industry-standard 300-pin MSA package.
