CyrusOne Boosts Connections To Midwest, East Coast

Dallas-based colocation provider CyrusOne said today that it has expanded its connectivity to the Midwest and East Coast, with new connections to its National Internet Exchange (National IX). CyrusOne said it has connected to the network in downtown Chicago and in Northern Virginia, on top of existing connections elsewhere in its network. The network links CyrusOne facilities directly in multiple, metropolitan markets. The company said the expansion comes as a result of heavy demand in both locations; CyrusOne pointed out that Northern Virginia recently passed New York and New Jersey as the top data center market in the country, with about 70 percent of Internet traffic passing through the region.
