San Antonio-based Consert, a provider of energy conservation management services for utilities, has been acquired by Toshiba Corporation, Toshiba said late last week. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Consert will be combined with Landis+Gyr, a provider of energy management products which is owned by Toshiba Group. Consert's energy management services use wired devices, such as Zigbee thermometers, load control and measurement, HVAC control, and other hardware to let utilities control the load and power consumption on their networks.
