Austin's Tech Industry Gears Up For Obama Visit
Austin's high tech industry is getting the spotlight today as President Obama chose the city to showcase companies in the manufacturing and high tech industry who have been creating jobs, locally and nationwide. The city is the first stop in a White House Jobs and Opportunity Tour focused on middle class jobs. The tour also includes a visit to Applied Materials, Manor New Tech High School, and potentially even the Capital Factory. The White House said Obama's tour is part of an effort to "reignite" the middle class by investing in jobs, skills, and opportunity.
The White House released a preview reel of the tour on YouTube yesterday ahead of the visit.
