ATX Startup Games Nets Austin Nonprofits Big Donations
The Austin startup community was out in full force last weekend, for the 3rd biannual Austin Startup Games Saturday--and for a good cause. According to companies involved in the event, the event raised a record number of donations to 15 local charities. The top winners of the event were SpareFoot (gold), uShip (silver), and Spiceworks (bronze). The games included such events as Beer Pong, Foosball, and trivia. Sparefoot said it donated its $15,000 prize to Kure It; Spiceworks donated a $3,000 check to The ALS Association. Other companies involved in the event included Adlucent, Adometry, Boundless Network, Build-A-Sign, Capital Factory, CSID, Headspring, Living Direct, Main Street Hub, MapMyFitness, Mass Relevance, Spredfast, and WhaleShark Media.
