Alert Logic Cracks 500 Customer MarkAlert Logic, a Houston-based provider of hosted IT compliance and security software, reported Tuesday that it surpassed the 500 customer milestone in the first half of 2008. Alert Logic explained that the popularity of its software-as-a-service applications stemmed from a need to comply with industry and government regulations, including the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Alert Logic added that its platform offers log management, intrusion protection and vulnerability management in a package that is easy to implement and use. Among other notable achievements for Alert Logic this year is the closing of a third round of venture financing worth $8.25 million.
