Alereon Gets Certification
Austin, Texas-based Alereon Inc., a manufacturer of wireless USB and WiMedia chipsets, revealed Tuesday that two of its chipsets have completed the WiMedia Alliance Registration program and are now eligible for certification testing. The chipsets, both members of Alereonís AL5000 family, are based on the WiMedia common radio platform. Alereon explained that the AL5000 chipset integrates essential radio frequency circuitry with a media access controller, BaseBand processor and software and covers all WiMedia bands from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz.
