Airband Claims Channel Sales Growth
Dallas-based Airband Communications, which provides fixed wireless voice and data services to businesses, reports today that it has been seeing growth in its channel. According to the firm, its sales in its channel program grew by over 100 percent during 2011, which it attributed to record demand for its voice and data serviecs. The firm did not say why it is seeing the large increase, but said that customers are looking to its network to bypass local phone and cable infrastructure, plus the ability to upgrade bandwidth in hours versus weeks. Airband's services, because they use fixed wireless links, avoid lots of the permitting, underground cable, and other barriers usually faced by companies looking to string cabling into a building. Airband looks to be trying to recruit new channel partners at a conference this week.
