Consulting giant Accenture is the latest company to target Austin as a software development hub, saying this morning that it is planning to hire 300 at a new Accenture Delivery Center in the city. Accenture said this morning that it has opened up doors at its new center, which will focus on developing software products for state health and human service agencies. Accenture said it hopes to grow the center to around 300 jobs by the end of 2013, which will bring it to a total of more than 5,000 employees in Texas. Accenture said the new center will provide software development and support as well as consulting and technology services. The consulting company already has offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
